Dear District Truancy Service Provider.
You may have heard that the Ministry has announced the outcomes of the evaluation of the proposals received in consideration of providing attendance services on behalf of the Ministry to support schools to improve attendance.
We are very aware that this is an unsettling time and that you all have employees who are now seeking an opportunity to be considered for a role with these new providers. Given the timing of the formal contract award the Ministry is offering to create a register in national office that will record the contact details of those interested people.
We commit to providing this information to the respective preferred respondent during the negotiation period. It needs to be noted that the ultimate decision to employ any of these people will rest solely with the service provider and the Ministry will not interfere with that independent process.
We are not in a position to formally advise the names of those parties yet, as in doing so we may create a legally binding commitment to those parties without having satisfied ourselves that they are indeed the organisations who we wish to award a contract to. We anticipate being in a position to advise the successful parties towards the end of November.
Please have your people who wish to have their details registered
email [email protected] with the following details
1. Full Name
2. Address
3. Contact Phone number(s) – your direct home or mobile phone number
4. Email Address (if applicable)
5. Current employer
6. Current role title
7. Current employment status - full time or part time
8. An indication of what you would like to be considered for if different from above (e.g. currently part time and would like full time, etc)
Alternately you are welcome to collect these details on your employees behalf and send them as a batch. Each submission will be acknowledged, and all names registered will receive communications directly (email preferred) updating the status of progress and outcomes for their particular region of interest.
We would also encourage at this time for all of your people to take this time to review their CV’s with a view of making sure they are up to date, and to continue to look and consider any other employment opportunities that might be available to them at the same time.
When – It is appreciated if you could have your registrations in by close of business Thursday 15th November.
Please note:
1. the date referred is not a deadline, we will receive your registrations of interest at any time and will forward these out to potential providers as they are received after this date.
2. this is an open invitation and has been sent to all current contracted service providers regardless of whether
a. you have responded to the RFP for integrated attendance services directly or otherwise, or
b. have a current role in delivery or support of the MSD led social sector trials

I have been inundated with calls from Services I work with who can NOT believe what the MoE are doing to our DTS 's here.
Our DTS the Central & South Taranaki DTS have court recognition as a good and thorough provider for youth with the backing of the ROCKON process (brought here from Hamilton & modified) and other community services.
Some of these Services have informed me that they may NOT work with another provider
Our timeframe, once again has been extended as the MoE are still negotiating with the proposed providers.
There would have been NO discussion with us. We would have just got on and done the job like we always do. But instead of two DTS's I was to merge to become one.
That would save me a LOT of paperwork.
